Job Overview
The HSE Officer will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing health, safety, and environmental programs and procedures to ensure a safe working environment and compliance with all relevant regulations at IFS operations in Nigeria.Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement HSE policies and procedures in alignment with company standards and local legislation.
- Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Organize and deliver HSE training to employees and contractors.
- Investigate all incidents and accidents, determining root causes and implementing preventative measures.
- Maintain accurate HSE records and prepare comprehensive reports for management review.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and promote sustainable practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an HSE Officer, preferably within the facilities management or service industry.
- In-depth knowledge of Nigerian HSE laws and regulations.
- Strong understanding of risk assessment techniques and safety management systems.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and training skills.
