Job Overview
Save the Children Nigeria seeks a highly experienced and dedicated Senior Advisor, Child Protection, fluent in French, to lead and enhance our child protection programs. This role is crucial in safeguarding vulnerable children, promoting their rights, and ensuring effective implementation of child protection strategies within our operational areas.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of child protection policies and strategies.
Provide technical guidance and capacity building to program staff and partners on child protection best practices.
Represent Save the Children in child protection coordination meetings and forums.
Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for child safeguarding.
Oversee the design and delivery of child protection interventions, ensuring quality and impact.
Manage budgets and resources allocated to child protection activities.
Contribute to proposal development and donor reporting for child protection initiatives.
Ensure adherence to Save the Children’s Child Safeguarding Policy.
Requirements
Master’s degree in Social Work, International Development, Human Rights, or a related field.
Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in child protection programming, preferably in humanitarian or development contexts.
Demonstrated expertise in child rights, child safeguarding, and protection mechanisms.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and fluency in French.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking abilities.
Proven experience in program management, monitoring, and evaluation.
Ability to work effectively in a multicultural team environment and travel within Nigeria.
