Job Overview

The QHSE Officer will be instrumental in developing, implementing, and maintaining the company’s Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment management systems. This role is crucial in ensuring compliance with all relevant industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies, fostering a culture of continuous improvement across all operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement QHSE policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, recommending corrective actions.
  • Promote a strong QHSE culture through training and awareness initiatives.
  • Monitor and report on QHSE performance metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage environmental impact assessments and mitigation plans.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in QHSE within the oil and gas industry.
  • Proficiency in QHSE management systems (e.g., ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001).
  • Strong understanding of Nigerian oil and gas regulations.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Relevant professional certifications are an added advantage.
