Catholic Relief Services (CRS) is a leading international non-governmental organization dedicated to providing relief and development assistance to those in need across the globe. In Nigeria, CRS is seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Manager to oversee infrastructure projects, aligning with our mission to serve the poor and vulnerable. This role is crucial in ensuring the successful implementation of infrastructure initiatives that support our broader program goals.

Job Overview

The Project Manager, Infrastructure will be responsible for the planning, execution, and closing of all infrastructure projects within CRS Nigeria. This includes managing budgets, timelines, resources, and stakeholder relationships to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards, while fostering capacity building with local partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, including scope, budget, schedule, and resource allocation.
  • Oversee the design, procurement, construction, and rehabilitation of infrastructure facilities.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant technical standards, safety regulations, and CRS policies.
  • Manage and mentor project teams, including local staff and contractors.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Facilitate and document regular project progress reports and meetings.
  • Strengthen the capacity of local partners in infrastructure management and implementation.
  • Liaise with government agencies, donors, and other stakeholders.
  • Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in infrastructure project management, preferably within an NGO or humanitarian context.
  • Proven experience in managing construction projects from inception to completion.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., MS Project, AutoCAD).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a challenging environment.
