Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Program Lead (Access to Finance) to join our team, contributing to the development and implementation of innovative programs and initiatives that enhance access to finance for small-scale farmers, agricultural businesses, and other stakeholders in the food system. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving the growth and success of our Access to Finance program, leveraging their expertise to identify and address the financial inclusion needs of our clients and partners. This is a unique opportunity to work with a talented team of professionals who share a passion for creating a more equitable and sustainable food system. As a remote position, the Program Lead will have the flexibility to work from anywhere, collaborating with colleagues and partners globally.

Key Responsibilities

* Develop and implement program strategies, plans, and budgets to enhance access to finance for small-scale farmers, agricultural businesses, and other stakeholders in the food system
* Conduct research and analysis to identify financial inclusion gaps and opportunities, informing program design and implementation
* Build and maintain relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders, including financial institutions, donors, and government agencies
* Design and deliver training programs, technical assistance, and other capacity-building initiatives to support the growth and development of agricultural businesses and financial institutions
* Collaborate with internal teams, including strategy, policy, and implementation, to ensure a comprehensive and integrated approach to program development and delivery
* Identify and pursue new business opportunities, contributing to the growth and expansion of the Access to Finance program
* Monitor and evaluate program performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing adjustments as needed
* Provide thought leadership and expertise on access to finance issues, representing FHSA in external forums and contributing to the development of industry-wide standards and best practices

Requirements

* Advanced degree in a relevant field, such as finance, economics, business administration, or international development
* Minimum 8 years of experience in access to finance, agricultural finance, or a related field, with a focus on program development, implementation, and management
* Proven track record of success in designing and delivering access to finance programs, including experience with financial institutions, donors, and government agencies
* Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and address complex financial inclusion challenges
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders
* Fluency in English, with proficiency in additional languages an asset
* Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team, with strong time management and organizational skills
