Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Operations Officer to join our team in Nigeria, where you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of our cocoa business. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth execution of all operational activities, including logistics, supply chain management, and quality control. Your expertise and leadership will be instrumental in driving efficiency, reducing costs, and improving overall performance. You will work closely with various stakeholders, including internal teams, suppliers, and customers, to achieve our business objectives and maintain our reputation as a leader in the industry.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee the daily operations of our cocoa business, including logistics, supply chain management, and quality control
* Develop and implement operational strategies to drive efficiency, reduce costs, and improve performance
* Collaborate with internal teams, including procurement, sales, and finance, to ensure alignment and effective communication
* Manage relationships with suppliers, customers, and other external stakeholders to maintain a high level of service and quality
* Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards
* Identify areas for improvement and develop plans to address operational challenges and implement changes
* Provide training and guidance to junior staff members to enhance their skills and knowledge
* Analyze data and reports to inform operational decisions and optimize business outcomes
Requirements
* Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as business administration, operations management, or logistics
* Minimum 5 years of experience in operations management, preferably in the agri-business or commodity trading industry
* Strong knowledge of logistics, supply chain management, and quality control principles
* Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and manage teams
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other operational software systems
