Job Overview

The Medical Laboratory Scientist (Haematology) will be responsible for performing a wide range of haematological tests and analyses, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in diagnostic reporting. This role is crucial in supporting clinical decision-making across various specialties within Lily Hospitals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and specialized haematological investigations, including full blood counts, differential counts, coagulation studies, and blood grouping.
  • Operate and maintain haematology laboratory equipment, ensuring proper calibration and quality control.
  • Accurately interpret and report test results, identifying abnormalities and escalating critical findings.
  • Adhere strictly to laboratory safety protocols and standard operating procedures.
  • Participate in quality assurance programs and contribute to the continuous improvement of laboratory services.
  • Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science or a related field.
  • Registered with the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN).
  • Proven experience in a clinical haematology laboratory setting.
  • Proficiency in operating standard haematology analyzers and microscopy.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
