The Maintenance Assistant will play a key role in supporting engineering and maintenance activities while ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards. This position requires attention to detail, teamwork, and a strong commitment to quality service.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out routine inspections on-site to ensure all maintenance activities meet required standards and timelines
• Ensure strict compliance with company safety policies including Golden Rules and STOP Card procedures
• Supervise contractors to ensure work aligns with approved scope and quality expectations
• Issue work permits such as hot work permits, tank entry permits, and fire permits when necessary
• Detect maintenance faults, assess repair needs, and report findings to supervisors
• Source and manage quotations from approved contractors within assigned areas
• Perform minor emergency repairs when required
• Assist in the installation and distribution of operational equipment such as fire extinguishers and shelves
• Maintain proper inventory records of company assets including pumps, generators, and compressors
• Monitor pump flow rates to ensure efficient operation
• Implement price changes as directed by the Maintenance Engineer

Requirements for Maintenance Assistant Job at TotalEnergies in Maiduguri

To qualify for this role, candidates should meet the following criteria:

• OND in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
• At least 2 years of relevant post-graduate experience
• Valid driver’s license with defensive driving skills
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and maintenance management systems
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and within a team
