Elela Care Humanitarian and Development Organization is seeking a dedicated Office Support (Watchman) to ensure the security and smooth functioning of our premises in Maiduguri, Borno State. As a youth-led Nigerian non-profit established in 2022, Elela Care is committed to assisting vulnerable populations affected by conflict and crisis across Borno, Yobe, Adamawa, and Benue states. This role is crucial to maintaining a safe and operational environment for our vital programs in Protection and Education in Emergencies.

Job Overview

The Office Support (Watchman) will be responsible for safeguarding Elela Care’s facilities, assets, and personnel during assigned shifts. This role requires vigilance, reliability, and a commitment to maintaining order and security within the office environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular patrols of the office premises to deter unauthorized access and ensure the safety of property.
  • Monitor access points and control entry and exit of staff, visitors, and vehicles.
  • Respond to security alarms and incidents promptly and effectively.
  • Report any security breaches, suspicious activities, or maintenance issues to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Maintain a logbook of all activities, visitors, and incidents.
  • Ensure all doors, windows, and gates are properly secured at the end of operating hours.
  • Assist with general office upkeep and minor maintenance tasks as required.

  • Proven experience in a security or watchman role.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain a high level of alertness.
  • Good observational skills and attention to detail.
  • Basic understanding of security protocols and emergency procedures.
