Job Overview
IFS Group is seeking a skilled and dedicated HVAC Technician/Engineer to join our esteemed team in Nigeria. This role is crucial for maintaining and optimizing the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems across our diverse portfolio of client facilities. You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of a wide range of HVAC equipment, ensuring a comfortable and safe environment for all occupants. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, a commitment to quality, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on all HVAC systems, including boilers, chillers, air handling units, and ventilation systems.
* Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues within HVAC equipment, utilizing advanced troubleshooting techniques and diagnostic tools.
* Install new HVAC systems and equipment according to specifications, blueprints, and manufacturer guidelines.
* Conduct routine inspections of HVAC systems to identify potential problems, inefficiencies, or safety hazards.
* Maintain detailed records of all maintenance, repair, and installation activities performed.
* Respond promptly to emergency service calls to address critical HVAC system failures.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
* Provide technical support and guidance to junior technicians as needed.
* Collaborate with other facilities management teams to ensure integrated service delivery.
* Manage spare parts inventory and recommend replacements for worn or damaged components.
Requirements
* Proven experience as an HVAC Technician or Engineer, with a strong understanding of HVAC principles and practices.
* Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing a variety of HVAC systems, including commercial and industrial applications.
* Familiarity with relevant building codes, safety regulations, and best practices in the HVAC industry.
* Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
* Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
* Possession of relevant professional certifications or a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is highly advantageous.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and colleagues.
* Must be legally eligible to work in Nigeria.
