We are seeking a dedicated Human Resources Officer to join our team in Abuja, Nigeria. This role is crucial in supporting our mission by ensuring effective and ethical HR practices within our operations.
Job Overview
The Human Resources Officer will be responsible for managing and implementing a range of HR functions to support the effective operation of MdM’s programs in Abuja. This includes recruitment, employee relations, compensation and benefits, training, and compliance with local labor laws. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and a commitment to MdM’s values.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the end-to-end recruitment process, from advertising vacancies to onboarding new staff.
- Manage employee records and ensure accuracy and confidentiality.
- Provide guidance and support to staff and management on HR policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with Nigerian labor laws and MdM’s HR policies.
- Assist with the administration of payroll and benefits.
- Support the development and delivery of staff training and development programs.
- Address employee grievances and facilitate conflict resolution.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of HR strategies aligned with organizational goals.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Human Resources role, preferably within the NGO sector.
- Sound knowledge of Nigerian labor laws and employment regulations.
- Proficiency in HRIS and standard office software.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong ethical standards and commitment to humanitarian principles.
