As an HSE Officer, you will be responsible for implementing and monitoring health, safety, and environmental practices across project sites. You will work closely with site teams and management to ensure that all operations comply with safety regulations and company standards.

Key Responsibilities

The HSE Officer will be responsible for:

• Implementing and monitoring compliance with HSE policies, procedures, and site safety plans
• Conducting daily site inspections and hazard identification activities
• Delivering toolbox talks, safety inductions, and awareness sessions to workers and subcontractors
• Assisting in the preparation of risk assessments, job hazard analyses, and method statements
• Enforcing the use of appropriate personal protective equipment across all site personnel
• Investigating incidents, accidents, and near misses, and preparing reports with corrective actions
• Maintaining accurate HSE records including inspection reports, incident logs, and training documentation
• Supporting emergency response activities such as first aid and evacuation procedures
• Reporting safety performance and observations to the HSE Manager
• Ensuring safe handling, storage, and disposal of materials and waste
• Participating in HSE audits and inspections as required

Requirements for the HSE Officer Job in Abuja

Candidates applying for this role should meet the following criteria:

• Bachelor’s degree or HND in Environmental Science, Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field
• Minimum of five years experience in HSE within construction, real estate, or infrastructure projects
• Relevant HSE certifications such as NEBOSH International General Certificate, ISPON certification, or equivalent
• Valid First Aid certification is an added advantage
• Good knowledge of Nigerian HSE regulations and construction safety standards
