Job Overview

This unique program provides an unparalleled opportunity for aspiring professionals to gain hands-on experience in the critical field of Internet peering and interconnection. Fellows will work closely with our expert teams, contributing to vital projects that ensure the stability, resilience, and growth of the global Internet. This fellowship is designed to cultivate the next generation of leaders in internet infrastructure and policy.

Key Responsibilities

* Collaborate with network engineers and peering managers to understand and analyze our global peering strategy and its implications.
* Research and document emerging trends and best practices in Internet interconnection, including peering policies and traffic exchange points.
* Assist in the evaluation and negotiation of peering agreements with other network operators and content providers.
* Support the monitoring and optimization of our network peering performance and capacity utilization.
* Contribute to the development of internal tools and methodologies for peering management and analysis.
* Participate in industry forums and working groups, representing Top Employer’s interests and gaining valuable insights.
* Develop a comprehensive understanding of the Internet Society’s mission and its role in promoting an open, global, and secure Internet.
* Prepare presentations and reports summarizing findings and recommendations to senior management.

Requirements

* Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Computer Science, Engineering, Telecommunications, Information Technology, or a related field.
* Demonstrated interest in Internet infrastructure, networking, and related policy issues.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret technical data.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly.
* A proactive and self-motivated attitude, with a desire to learn and contribute to a dynamic team.
* Familiarity with network protocols (e.g., BGP) is a plus.
* Commitment to upholding the principles of an open and accessible Internet.
