Since our founding in 2008, we have expanded our impact across Sierra Leone, Liberia, and Nepal, transforming the lives of over 50,000 children. In 2017, we extended our reach to Nigeria, launching vital projects to support children affected by conflict in the North East in accessing education. We are now seeking a dedicated Education Specialist to join our team in Nigeria.
Job Overview
The Education Specialist will play a crucial role in developing, implementing, and monitoring Street Child’s education programmes in Nigeria. This position requires a strategic thinker with a passion for improving educational access and quality for vulnerable children, particularly those impacted by conflict.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement innovative education project strategies aligned with Street Child’s mission.
- Conduct needs assessments and data collection to inform programme design and adaptation.
- Provide technical guidance and capacity building to local partners and staff.
- Monitor project progress, evaluate outcomes, and report on key performance indicators.
- Ensure adherence to safeguarding policies and best practices in all programme activities.
- Foster strong relationships with stakeholders, including government agencies, local communities, and other NGOs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, International Development, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- Proven experience in designing and managing education programmes, preferably in a humanitarian or development context.
- Strong understanding of child protection and safeguarding principles.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.
- Proficiency in data collection and monitoring tools.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a diverse team environment.
- Fluency in English is essential; knowledge of local Nigerian languages is an advantage.
