Job Overview

The Lead Cardiologist will spearhead the Cardiovascular Department at AMCE, overseeing clinical operations, driving medical excellence, and fostering a culture of innovation. This pivotal role requires a distinguished physician with a proven track record in advanced cardiology practice, leadership, and a passion for advancing cardiac healthcare in Africa.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all clinical aspects of the Cardiology Department, ensuring the highest standards of patient care.
  • Develop and implement cutting-edge diagnostic and treatment protocols for cardiovascular diseases.
  • Mentor and guide a team of cardiologists, fellows, and allied health professionals.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure integrated and comprehensive patient management.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of research initiatives within the cardiovascular field.
  • Participate in educational programs for medical students, residents, and fellows.
  • Ensure adherence to all ethical, legal, and institutional policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
  • Specialist postgraduate qualification in Cardiology (e.g., FWACP, FRCP, Board Certification).
  • Current medical license to practice in Nigeria.
  • Minimum of 10 years of post-qualification experience in clinical cardiology, with significant leadership experience.
  • Expertise in interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, or advanced imaging is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated commitment to medical education and research.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
