Job Overview

The Senior Associate, Access Network Planning will be responsible for the strategic planning, design, and implementation of Equinix’s access network infrastructure in Nigeria. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure our network capabilities meet current and future business demands, supporting rapid growth and the delivery of exceptional customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive access network strategies aligned with Equinix’s global standards and local market needs.
• Design and architect resilient, scalable, and cost-effective access network solutions for our data center facilities in Nigeria.
• Collaborate with internal engineering teams, vendors, and service providers to ensure timely and successful network deployments.
• Analyze network performance metrics, identify potential bottlenecks, and implement optimizations to enhance reliability and efficiency.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of network documentation, including design guides, capacity plans, and standard operating procedures.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and industry best practices to inform future network planning and investments.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in network planning, design, and engineering, with a strong focus on access network technologies.
• Proven expertise in IP networking, routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF), MPLS, and fiber optic transmission technologies.
• Familiarity with data center network architectures and connectivity solutions.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
