Job Overview

The Assistant Branch Accountant will provide essential support to the Branch Accountant in managing daily financial operations, ensuring accuracy, and contributing to the overall financial health of the assigned branch. This role is crucial for maintaining efficient record-keeping and supporting strategic financial decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports.
• Process invoices, receipts, and payments accurately and in a timely manner.
• Maintain the branch’s general ledger and subsidiary ledgers.
• Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts.
• Support the Branch Accountant with inventory accounting and stock takes.
• Ensure compliance with company financial policies and procedures.
• Assist with audit preparations and follow-up on audit queries.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in an accounting or finance role.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
