Job Overview
The Logistics Officer (Truck Operations) will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our trucking operations, from fleet management and maintenance to route optimization and driver supervision. Key Responsibilities
- Manage the daily operations of the company’s truck fleet, ensuring timely delivery and pickup of goods and equipment.
- Develop and implement efficient route planning strategies to minimize transit times and fuel consumption.
- Oversee vehicle maintenance schedules, coordinating repairs and inspections to ensure fleet reliability and safety.
- Supervise and manage truck drivers, including scheduling, performance monitoring, and adherence to company policies and traffic regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle logs, maintenance, and operational expenses.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation laws, regulations, and safety standards.
- Liaise with internal departments and external stakeholders to coordinate logistics requirements.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Logistics Officer or in a similar role, with a strong focus on truck operations.
- In-depth knowledge of fleet management best practices and logistics software.
- Excellent understanding of Nigerian road networks and transportation regulations.
