Job Overview
The Production Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the production process at the Erojim Shoe Factory, ensuring that manufacturing targets are met efficiently, cost-effectively, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires strong leadership, meticulous planning, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement production plans to meet demand forecasts and operational objectives.
- Manage and supervise production teams, fostering a culture of performance and safety.
- Monitor production processes to identify and resolve bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
- Ensure adherence to quality control standards throughout the manufacturing cycle.
- Oversee inventory management of raw materials and finished goods.
- Implement and maintain best practices in manufacturing and operational procedures.
- Collaborate with other departments, including procurement, sales, and logistics, to ensure smooth operations.
- Manage production budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a production management role, preferably within the footwear or garment manufacturing industry.
- Demonstrated experience in managing large-scale production facilities.
- Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and quality management systems.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in production planning and scheduling software.
- Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
- Proven problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with Nigerian manufacturing landscape is an advantage.
