Job Overview
The Welding Inspector will be responsible for ensuring that all welding activities meet stringent quality standards and project specifications. This role is critical in maintaining the structural integrity and safety of our complex offshore and maritime structures.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections of all welding operations, including pre-welding, in-process, and post-welding checks.
- Verify welder qualifications and adherence to approved welding procedures.
- Utilize various Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods as required, such as visual inspection, radiographic testing, ultrasonic testing, and magnetic particle testing.
- Interpret welding symbols, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Document inspection results, generate reports, and raise non-conformance reports for any deviations.
- Ensure compliance with international welding codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API, AWS).
- Collaborate with project engineers, supervisors, and fabrication teams to resolve welding-related issues.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Welding Inspector in the oil and gas or maritime industry.
- Relevant welding inspection certifications (e.g., CSWIP 3.1, PCN Level 2, ASNT Level II in relevant NDT methods).
- Proficiency in interpreting welding procedures, PQR, WPS, and technical drawings.
- Strong understanding of various welding processes and metallurgy.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
