One Acre Fund is seeking a dedicated Gender and Youth Associate for a fixed-term contract in Kenya. This role is integral to our mission of empowering smallholder farmers, with a specific focus on integrating gender equality and youth engagement into our agricultural programs. You will contribute to our efforts to combat hunger and poverty by ensuring our services are inclusive and accessible to all members of farming communities.

Job Overview

The Gender and Youth Associate will support the implementation and monitoring of One Acre Fund’s gender and youth strategies. You will work closely with field teams and program managers to mainstream gender and youth considerations into all aspects of our operations, from farmer recruitment to training delivery and impact assessment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and execution of gender and youth-focused training modules and activities.
  • Conduct field visits to observe program implementation and gather qualitative data on gender and youth inclusion.
  • Support the collection and analysis of data related to gender and youth participation and outcomes.
  • Contribute to the development of reports and presentations on gender and youth program activities.
  • Facilitate discussions and build awareness around gender equality and youth empowerment within program teams and communities.
  • Provide administrative and logistical support for gender and youth initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Gender Studies, Development Studies, Sociology, Agriculture, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated understanding of gender equality principles and youth development issues in a rural context.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in basic data collection and analysis.
  • Previous experience in a similar role or within a non-profit organization is an advantage.
