Job Overview

The Senior Director, Customer Development & Digital Commerce, NEF will lead the strategy and execution of our customer development initiatives and digital commerce ambitions in Nigeria. This role is critical in enhancing market penetration, driving revenue growth, and building a robust digital ecosystem to connect with consumers and customers more effectively. You will be responsible for building strong relationships with key stakeholders and leveraging data-driven insights to optimize commercial strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive customer development and digital commerce strategies tailored for the Nigerian market.
  • Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities to expand market share and revenue.
  • Build and nurture strong, long-term relationships with key customers, distributors, and partners.
  • Drive the adoption and optimization of digital platforms for sales, marketing, and consumer engagement.
  • Lead a high-performing team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability.
  • Analyze market trends, consumer behavior, and competitive landscapes to inform strategic decisions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain) to ensure seamless execution of commercial plans.
  • Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA or equivalent preferred.
  • Proven track record of leadership in customer development, sales, and/or digital commerce within the FMCG sector, preferably in emerging markets.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing successful commercial strategies.
  • Deep understanding of digital commerce trends, e-commerce platforms, and digital marketing in the Nigerian context.
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities.
  • Experience managing complex stakeholder relationships.
