Excellence Community Education Welfare Scheme Ltd/Gte (ECEWS), a prominent indigenous non-profit organization committed to enhancing access to quality healthcare, education, and economic strengthening services across Nigeria, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Finance Manager. ECEWS boasts a diverse team of experts in health, education, social work, youth development, civil society engagement, and research. As part of our ongoing commitment, the LOCATE project, a vital CDC/PEPFAR-funded initiative focused on HIV prevention, care, and treatment, requires a skilled professional to oversee financial operations.
Job Overview
The Finance Manager will be responsible for the overall financial management and integrity of ECEWS and its projects, ensuring compliance with donor regulations, organizational policies, and Nigerian financial laws. This role is critical in supporting the organization’s mission and the successful implementation of the LOCATE project.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and manage organizational budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
Oversee accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
Prepare accurate and timely financial reports for internal management, donors, and regulatory bodies.
Ensure compliance with all applicable financial regulations, including grant-specific requirements.
Manage financial aspects of donor grants, including budgeting, reporting, and expenditure tracking.
Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard organizational assets.
Provide financial guidance and support to project teams.
Liaise with external auditors and ensure timely completion of audits.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA) is highly desirable.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in financial management, preferably within the non-profit sector.
Proven experience in grant management and reporting for international donors (e.g., CDC, PEPFAR).
Strong understanding of Nigerian accounting standards and tax regulations.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
