This pivotal role will oversee the development, maintenance, and strategic planning of the university’s physical infrastructure, ensuring it aligns with our commitment to excellence and growth.

Job Overview

The Director of Works & Physical Planning will be responsible for the comprehensive management of all university construction, renovation, maintenance, and groundskeeping activities. This position requires a strategic leader capable of overseeing large-scale projects, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement long-term physical development plans for the university.
  • Oversee all construction, renovation, and maintenance projects from inception to completion.
  • Manage budgets, tender processes, and contractor engagements.
  • Ensure the upkeep and functionality of all university facilities and grounds.
  • Champion sustainability initiatives within physical planning and operations.
  • Liaise with relevant government agencies and stakeholders.
  • Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Urban Planning, or a related field.
  • Master’s degree or professional qualification is an added advantage.
  • Proven experience in project management and infrastructure development, preferably in an academic setting.
  • Strong understanding of Nigerian building codes and regulations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
