Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cost Accountant to join our finance team, responsible for driving business growth and profitability through strategic cost management and financial analysis. The successful candidate will play a critical role in developing and implementing effective cost accounting systems, providing insightful financial analysis, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize business performance. As a key member of our finance team, the Cost Accountant will contribute to the development of financial strategies, identify areas for cost savings, and drive process improvements. With a strong focus on accuracy, attention to detail, and analytical skills, the ideal candidate will be able to navigate complex financial data, identify trends, and provide actionable recommendations to inform business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

* Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive cost accounting systems, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting
* Conduct detailed financial analysis, including cost-benefit analysis, variance analysis, and trend analysis to inform business decisions
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, procurement, and sales, to identify areas for cost savings and process improvements
* Prepare and present financial reports, including monthly management accounts, budget variance reports, and ad-hoc analysis to senior management
* Develop and maintain financial models, including budgeting, forecasting, and scenario planning to drive business growth and profitability
* Identify and mitigate financial risks, ensuring compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements
* Develop and implement cost-saving initiatives, including cost reduction programs and process improvements
* Provide training and support to junior team members, promoting a culture of continuous learning and development

Requirements

* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, with a professional certification in accounting (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA)
* Minimum 5 years of experience in cost accounting, financial analysis, or a related field, preferably in the retail or luxury goods industry
* Strong knowledge of financial accounting, cost accounting, and financial analysis, with expertise in financial modeling and reporting
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to navigate complex financial data and provide actionable insights
* Proficiency in financial software, including ERP systems, Excel, and financial planning tools
* Strong business acumen, with the ability to think strategically and drive business growth through financial analysis and planning
* Collaborative team player, with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
