Job Description
As a Migration Assistant, you will support the Embassy in handling residence and work permit applications, conducting interviews, and providing administrative and operational assistance. This role requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a multicultural diplomatic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Application Management: Receive, review, and register applications for residence and work permits
- Interviewing: Conduct formal interviews with applicants as part of the migration casework process
- Inquiry Handling: Respond to migration-related queries from individuals, authorities, and the Swedish Migration Agency
- Document Processing: Distribute issued visas, passports, and residence permit cards
- Administration: Maintain accurate records through systematic filing and archiving
- Support: Provide flexible assistance for other Embassy tasks as required
Qualifications and Requirements
Essential:
- Bachelor’s degree in Law or Social Sciences
- Excellent written and verbal command of English
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and web-based administrative programs
- Strong interpersonal and professional communication skills
- Must be a Nigerian citizen or possess a valid work permit (CERPAK)
Advantageous (Merit):
- Working knowledge of French
- Prior experience in migration, visa, or administrative roles at official authorities or foreign missions
- Experience in high-level customer service or reception
