YNAB (You Need A Budget) is hiring a Security Engineer to help safeguard the trust millions place in our financial education platform. This is a fully remote role where you’ll work hands-on with security tooling, monitoring, incident response, and infrastructure to maintain and improve platform security.

Role Overview:
The Security Engineer will implement and maintain security controls, collaborate with engineering teams on secure design, monitor and respond to threats, and help improve overall security standards and automation.

• Employment Type: Full-time
• Location: Remote
• Salary: $120,000–$140,000 USD + profit sharing

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement and maintain security controls, tools, and monitoring systems
• Partner with engineers on secure architecture, code reviews, and threat modeling
• Monitor security events, investigate potential threats, and support incident response
• Enhance security standards, automate processes, and improve infrastructure resilience

Qualifications & Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience in security engineering, software engineering, DevOps, or IT security
• Practical application security experience, including code reviews, threat modeling, SAST/DAST
• Experience with security logging and monitoring tools (e.g., Datadog, Splunk, ELK)
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
