Job Description
Nethermind is expanding its security team and is hiring a Blockchain Security Engineer with hands on experience or strong knowledge in smart contract auditing. This role is ideal for auditors and developers who want to work at the forefront of blockchain security while contributing to real world protocols across Ethereum and StarkNet.
As a Blockchain Security Engineer, you will review production level smart contracts, build security tooling, and collaborate with protocol teams to strengthen decentralized systems used globally.
About the Role
In this position, you will work with smart contracts written in Solidity and Cairo, assess protocol level risks, and help secure applications operating within the Ethereum Virtual Machine and StarkNet ecosystem. You will collaborate closely with engineers, researchers, and clients while gaining exposure to cutting edge blockchain infrastructure.
Knowledge of GoLang is considered a strong advantage.
Key Responsibilities
• Review and audit smart contracts for protocols in the Ethereum and StarkNet ecosystems
• Identify vulnerabilities and recommend security improvements
• Collaborate with team members to maintain and enhance blockchain security tools
• Design and develop new tools for smart contract security analysis
• Participate in client meetings to discuss findings, risks, and best practices
• Apply modern software engineering standards to security research and tooling
Required Skills and Experience
• At least one year of experience in Solidity security analysis
• Strong understanding of the Ethereum Virtual Machine and Yellow Paper
• Fluency in Solidity development and smart contract deployment
• In depth knowledge of common smart contract vulnerabilities
• Experience with tools and frameworks used for smart contract development and auditing
• Strong debugging skills or background in reverse engineering
• Basic working knowledge of Cairo and StarkNet
Nice to Have Qualifications
• Background in traditional cybersecurity prior to blockchain work
• Hands on experience with Cairo development
• Solid understanding of StarkNet architecture
• Clear written and verbal communication skills
• Familiarity with common DeFi applications
• Blog posts, presentations, or research content related to DeFi or security
• Publicly available smart contract audit reports
