Job Description
Religions for Peace (RfP), the world’s largest and most inclusive multi-religious coalition, is currently accepting applications for its 2026 Internship Program, covering Winter/Spring, Summer, and Fall cycles. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
This internship program is ideal for currently enrolled students seeking hands-on experience in global peacebuilding, interfaith collaboration, international development, and nonprofit work within a diverse, multicultural environment.
About Religions for Peace
Headquartered in New York City and holding UN Consultative Status, Religions for Peace works across more than 90 national and 4 regional Interreligious Councils worldwide. The organization advances peace, justice, gender equality, environmental sustainability, freedom of religion or belief, education, and international cooperation through interfaith action.
Interns at Religions for Peace contribute directly to programs addressing some of the world’s most pressing global challenges while gaining meaningful professional experience in international peacebuilding.
Internship Overview

Available Internship Tracks
Communications Internship
- Location: New York (in-person or remote)
- Duration: Minimum of 3 months
- Supervisor: Communications Associate
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain digital communications calendars
- Draft and schedule content for social media platforms including Instagram, X, and Facebook
- Write website content, reports, and communication materials
- Collect stories, quotes, data, and multimedia content
- Support virtual and in-person events, webinars, and campaigns
- Track engagement metrics and analytics
- Organize and archive digital assets
Required Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in International Relations, Political Science, Religious Studies, Public Policy, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or related fields
- Strong writing and research skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Excellent interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity
Preferred Skills:
- French, Arabic, or Spanish language skills
- Experience with Canva, WordPress, video editing tools, or social media analytics

Development / Resource Mobilisation Internship
- Location: New York (in-person or remote)
- Duration: Minimum of 6 months
- Supervisor: Development Associate
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the drafting of grant proposals and donor reports
- Assist with donor engagement, stewardship, and cultivation efforts
- Research funding opportunities and donor profiles
- Organize fundraising documentation and databases
- Provide daily administrative support to development operations
Required Qualifications:
- Enrollment in International Relations, Public Policy, Nonprofit Management, or related disciplines
- Strong writing, proofreading, and research skills
- High attention to detail
- Strong intercultural communication abilities
Preferred Skills:
- French, Arabic, or Spanish
- Prior experience with grant writing

Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Executive Office Manager and Peace Programme Officer
- Maintain and update the global directory of interreligious councils
- Research and prepare profiles on faith leaders and partner organizations
- Assist with event and webinar logistics
- Draft official correspondence and internal communications
Required Qualifications:
- Strong writing and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively
- Demonstrated interest in interreligious dialogue and peacebuilding

Programmes Internship

- Compile and organize programme data and outputs
- Provide day-to-day support to Programme Officers
- Coordinate with global Interreligious Councils and partners

- Tech-savvy with the ability to multitask effectively
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite
- Social media writing skills
- Grant-writing experience
