The West African Small & Medium-Scale Agribusiness Support (WASSMAS) initiative is now accepting applications for its 2025 Agriculture Grant, designed to empower small and mid-scale agricultural startups across Africa, with a strong focus on the ECOWAS region.

This grant programme provides financial support, capacity building, technical assistance, and market access to help farmers and agro-entrepreneurs scale sustainable and profitable agricultural ventures.

Who Can Apply

    • Integrated farming systems

Supported Agricultural Sectors

The 2025 WASSMAS Agriculture Grant supports a wide range of agribusiness activities, including:

Livestock Farming

Funding for cattle, poultry, pigs, and small ruminants, including housing, equipment, and infrastructure.

Crop Production

Support for rice, maize, cassava, vegetables, and other staple crops, with access to improved inputs and modern farming tools.

Fish Farming

Specialized funding for catfish and tilapia farming, including pond construction and operational equipment.

Agro-Processing

Grants for value-addition businesses, covering processing equipment, packaging systems, and post-harvest handling.

Integrated Farming

Support for diversified farming models that combine crops, livestock, and aquaculture for increased productivity and sustainability.
