The Bible Society of Nigeria (BSN) is recruiting a proactive and results-oriented Territorial Distribution Officer (TDO) to oversee and grow Scripture distribution across the Jos territory and its surrounding regions. The role focuses on planning, forecasting, and executing effective distribution and marketing strategies in alignment with BSN’s strategic direction. The successful candidate will strengthen market presence, expand customer networks, and ensure efficient inventory and distribution management, particularly within Northern Nigeria.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage all Scripture distribution activities within the assigned territory
  • Plan, forecast, and implement marketing and distribution programmes that improve stock movement and optimise warehouse space
  • Identify Scripture and product needs of existing and potential customers, and strategically position products to meet market demand
  • Expand market reach by developing new customers and strengthening distribution channels across the territory
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships through regular outlet visits, phone engagement, and customer service forums
  • Ensure effective inventory control and proper management of BSN Scripture stock
  • Support the Distribution Manager with product development initiatives, market research, and other distribution-related activities
  • Track monthly and annual brand performance data within the territory and submit regular performance reports to management
  • Prepare an annual territorial distribution plan by product brand for inclusion in BSN’s corporate distribution plan

  • Strong planning, forecasting, and analytical capabilities

  • Product positioning and customer relationship management expertise
  • Computer literacy and proficiency with reporting and accounting tools
  • Strong numerical and data interpretation skills

Knowledge

  • Good understanding of the Nigerian Bible market, especially within Northern Nigeria
  • Working knowledge of Sage 50 and/or QuickBooks
  • Sound knowledge of Nigerian road networks, particularly in the North-East and North-West regions

Abilities

  • Effectively manage the end-to-end distribution chain
  • Contribute meaningfully to marketing development initiatives at local, regional, and global levels
  • Build and sustain profitable, long-term customer relationships
  • Apply marketing mix strategies to drive distribution growth and market expansion
  • Speak Hausa fluently to engage effectively with customers and partners in the territory
