Alan & Grant is recruiting a Systems & Network Engineer to design, secure, and maintain a resilient IT infrastructure that supports reliable digital operations and service delivery.

This role is critical to ensuring high availability, cybersecurity, and performance across all enterprise systems and networks.

Role Overview

The Systems & Network Engineer will be responsible for building and maintaining secure, scalable, and reliable network and server environments while ensuring business continuity and system resilience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and maintain secure network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, VPNs, wireless networks, and WAN/LAN environments
  • Manage on-premise and cloud server infrastructure, including installation, configuration, monitoring, patching, and backups
  • Implement and enforce cybersecurity controls, including access management, threat monitoring, network segmentation, IDS/IPS, and endpoint security
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system, network, and connectivity issues across user groups
  • Support integration of digital platforms, applications, and data systems
  • Monitor network performance, logs, and uptime to ensure optimal operations and early detection of issues
  • Maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans, including backup routines and redundancy
  • Document system architecture, configurations, and operational procedures

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
  • Proven experience managing enterprise-level networks and server infrastructure
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, routing protocols, firewalls, and network security architecture
  • Proficiency in Windows and Linux server administration, virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Experience with cybersecurity tools such as SIEM, endpoint protection, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and vulnerability scanners
  • Scripting or automation skills (PowerShell, Bash, Python) are an advantage
  • Public-sector or regulated-environment experience is a plus
