Follow The Money (FTM), Africa’s largest social accountability movement and a flagship initiative of Connected Development (CODE), is calling for applications for the position of State Lead at Follow The Money across all thirty six states of Nigeria and the Federal Capital Territory. This voluntary leadership opportunity is open to committed, community rooted individuals who are passionate about transparency, accountability, and people powered governance.

About the State Lead Role

The State Lead at Follow The Money role places selected individuals at the center of community action within their states. State Leads will work closely with citizens, volunteers, and local stakeholders to track public projects, promote accountability, and strengthen local governance systems. This is a voluntary role suited for individuals driven by civic responsibility and social change.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

As a State Lead at Follow The Money, your responsibilities will include:

• Engaging local government officials, traditional leaders, and community stakeholders to promote open governance
• Serving as a communication bridge between communities and the national FTM team through regular reporting and storytelling
• Building, motivating, and managing a network of volunteers and community champions within the state

Requirements and Qualifications

Applicants for the State Lead at Follow The Money position must demonstrate:

• Strong commitment to transparency, accountability, and active citizenship
• Experience in community organising, social activism, or civil society engagement
• Excellent leadership, communication, and public speaking skills
• Good understanding of the state’s geography, languages, and social dynamics
