Role Overview

Ostium is seeking a Smart Contract Engineer to design, develop, and deploy secure, gas-efficient Solidity smart contracts that power perpetual trading of real-world assets. You will work closely with protocol, backend, and security-focused engineers to build reliable and scalable DeFi infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and audit upgradeable, gas-optimized Solidity smart contracts
  • Build core perpetual trading logic, including:
    • Margining systems
    • Funding rate mechanisms
    • Liquidation processes
    • Trade execution flows
  • Integrate Chainlink and off-chain oracle systems
  • Write, maintain, and execute robust smart contract tests using Foundry
  • Collaborate with backend engineers on protocol and infrastructure integrations
  • Contribute to security-first development practices and code reviews

Requirements

  • Strong proficiency in Solidity with deep understanding of the EVM
  • Hands-on experience with Foundry, Hardhat, and DeFi primitives
  • Familiarity with:
    • Smart contract upgrade patterns
    • Oracle systems
    • On-chain security best practices
  • 2+ years of experience building Web3 or DeFi protocols (preferred)
