Job Description
Site Engineer: Danhurst Engineering Limited is seeking a highly experienced and professionally registered Site Engineer to lead road construction projects in Benin City, Edo State. This onsite position offers a competitive monthly salary of ₦300,000 to ₦400,000 for a qualified candidate with extensive road engineering experience and NSE registration.
Role Overview
We are looking for a seasoned Road Engineer with a minimum of 10 years hands-on experience in road construction projects. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise, project management skills, and professional registration to oversee site operations and ensure project success.
Key Responsibilities
Project Supervision
- Oversee daily site operations for road construction projects from inception to completion
- Ensure all engineering work complies with project specifications, drawings, and standards
- Monitor construction progress and report regularly to project management
- Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and site workers to maintain workflow
Technical Management
- Interpret engineering drawings and translate them into actionable site instructions
- Conduct regular site inspections to verify quality of materials and workmanship
- Ensure proper execution of earthworks, pavement construction, and drainage systems
- Verify that all construction activities meet technical specifications and standards
Quality Assurance
- Implement and maintain quality control procedures on site
- Conduct tests and checks to ensure materials meet required specifications
- Identify and resolve technical issues promptly to avoid project delays
- Document all quality control activities and test results
Health and Safety Compliance
- Enforce strict adherence to health and safety regulations on site
- Conduct regular safety briefings and inspections
- Ensure all site personnel follow safe working practices
- Maintain safety records and incident reports
Resource Management
- Monitor material usage and ensure efficient resource allocation
- Verify that equipment and machinery are properly maintained
- Coordinate with procurement team for timely material delivery
- Track project costs and report any variances
Qualifications and Requirements
Education and Professional Registration
- Bachelor’s degree or HND in Civil Engineering or related field
- Must be registered with the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE)
- COREN registration is an added advantage
Experience
- Minimum of 10 to 12 years experience in road construction engineering
- Proven track record of successful road project delivery
- Hands-on experience with various road construction techniques and materials
- Experience working on federal or state road projects is preferred
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of road construction standards and specifications
- Proficiency in engineering software and surveying equipment
- Understanding of geotechnical and materials testing procedures
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings

Location
