Job Description

British American Tobacco (BAT) Nigeria is recruiting fresh engineering graduates into its Global Graduate Programme (Operations) – an intensive 18-month rotational leadership programme based in Ibadan, Oyo State.

You’ll rotate across key Operations functions, gain hands-on technical and business exposure, and be groomed for future leadership roles in a global multi-category consumer goods company.

You will be part of BAT’s transformation journey as it builds “A Better Tomorrow” and moves toward reduced-risk / smokeless products, while learning core operations, supply chain and innovation skills.

Rotations – What You’ll Be Exposed To
You’ll rotate through multiple functions within BAT Operations, such as:
1. Make (Manufacturing)
o Learn how products are manufactured
o Work on production systems, quality control, equipment efficiency and process improvement
2. Plan (Supply vs Demand Balancing)
o Understand forecasting, production planning, and inventory management
o Learn how to match factory output with market demand
3. Logistics
o Work on warehousing, distribution, and transportation
o Optimize product movement from factory to market
4. Procurement
o Learn sourcing strategies, vendor management, and cost optimisation
o Participate in supplier negotiations and sustainable procurement
5. Service
o Support global business services and internal customers
o Learn how operational excellence drives customer and business outcomes
6. Product Innovation
o Work with Marketing and Sales
o Contribute to new product ideas, packaging, and operational innovation

Eligibility & Requirements

Education
• Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from a recognized institution.
Eligible disciplines include (but are not limited to):
o Mechanical Engineering
o Electrical / Electronics Engineering
o Industrial Engineering
o Chemical Engineering
o Production / Manufacturing Engineering
o Other relevant engineering fields

NYSC
• Must have completed NYSC
• Applicants currently serving or awaiting call-up/redeployment are not eligible.

Work Experience
• Maximum 0–3 years post-graduation experience
• More than 3 years’ experience disqualifies you (this is for fresh grads / early-career talent).

Other Requirements
• Some exposure to operations / manufacturing / supply chain / technical environments is an advantage (internships, NYSC, projects etc.), but not mandatory.
• Willingness to relocate, both within Nigeria and potentially internationally.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken).
• Membership of NSE / COREN or similar professional bodies is an added advantage.
