The Wells Mountain Initiative (WMI) Scholarship is a fully funded undergraduate scholarship for students from developing countries, supported by the Wells Mountain Initiative, a charitable foundation based in Bristol, Vermont, USA.

WMI Scholars are selected through a rigorous multi-step review process. Selected scholars will be notified via email on August 1, 2026, and their names will also be published on the WMI website and Facebook page. Applicants not selected will receive notification after this date.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must
• Have successfully completed secondary education with strong academic performance
• Be 35 years or younger as of 1 March 2026
• Be pursuing their first bachelor’s degree or diploma
• Be enrolled in a program of study that benefits the community or contributes to the development of their home country
• Intend to live and work in their home country after graduation
• Demonstrate a commitment to community service or volunteering
• May have some financial resources, but need this scholarship to pursue tertiary education

Applicants must submit
• Clear personal photograph
• Completed 2025 WMI application form
• Personal essay (topic provided on application form)
• Two letters of recommendation
• Official secondary school transcript and grading key
• Official national exam results and grading key
• Official tertiary transcript (if applicable) and grading key

Application Process
Online Application (Recommended)
1. Visit the WMI application portal and create a free account.
2. Complete all sections of the application and upload required documents.
3. Online applications can be saved and returned to before submission, ensuring all information is complete and received.
Mail-in Application
1. Print the 2025 application form (available from 1 December 2024).
2. Complete the form carefully and attach all required documents.
3. Mail the completed application to WMI. Applicants are responsible for ensuring their submissions are complete and received.
