Job Description
The University of Liverpool Hodgson Law Scholarship is a fully funded postgraduate scholarship created for exceptional international law students.
It is funded through the benefaction of Elizabeth Hodgson, widow of Liverpool solicitor Joseph Hodgson, who wished to support the education and training of lawyers who may serve Merseyside and beyond.

Eligibility & Requirements
To be considered for the 2026 University of Liverpool Hodgson Law Scholarship, applicants must
• Have completed or be in the final year of a Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in Law or a related discipline.
• Hold (or be on track to achieve) at least a 2 1 (UK Upper Second Class) or equivalent.
• Have an excellent standard of English.
In addition, applicants must clearly demonstrate
1. Academic excellence
2. Evidence of interest in legal and public service that may benefit the Liverpool City Region
3. Potential and ambition for future leadership
4. That they cannot otherwise afford to undertake a postgraduate degree at the University of Liverpool
Scholarship Benefits
The Hodgson Law Scholarship provides
• Full tuition fees for a full-time LLM (postgraduate taught degree in Law) at the University of Liverpool
• An annual stipend of £10,550 to support living expenses
