Applications are now open for the Lagos State Scholarship 2026, offering financial support to eligible indigenous students of Lagos State across tertiary institutions in Nigeria. About the Lagos State Scholarship Board

The Lagos State Scholarship Board was established in February 1968 shortly after the creation of Lagos State. The Board is responsible for managing scholarships, bursaries, and other educational intervention programmes designed to support Lagos State indigenes in higher institutions across Nigeria.

General Eligibility Requirements

To be considered for the Lagos State Scholarship 2026 or bursary award, applicants must meet the following conditions:

• Must be an indigene of Lagos State by paternity
• Must have secured full time admission into a recognized tertiary institution in Nigeria

Eligibility Criteria for Scholarship Awards

In addition to the general requirements, applicants applying specifically for scholarship awards must meet the academic standards below:

• Must be enrolled as a full time student in a tertiary institution
• Must be a bona fide indigene of Lagos State by paternity
• Undergraduate applicants must have a minimum CGPA of 3.5
• Postgraduate applicants must hold a minimum of Second Class Upper Division

Scholarship Award Amounts by Level

The Lagos State Government provides different scholarship values based on academic level:

• Technical Colleges receive ₦100,000
• Polytechnics and Colleges of Education receive ₦200,000
• First Degree students receive ₦200,000
• Master’s Degree students receive ₦300,000
• Doctorate Degree students receive ₦400,000

Bursary Award Amounts

For Lagos State University Students

• Freshers receive ₦35,000
• Arts students receive ₦25,000
• Science students receive ₦30,000
• Physically challenged students receive ₦40,000
• Law, Engineering and Medical students receive ₦50,000

For Students in Other Institutions

• Arts students receive ₦20,000
• Science students receive ₦30,000
• Physically challenged students receive ₦40,000
• Law, Engineering and Medical students receive ₦50,000
• Law School and Maritime Academy students receive ₦200,000

• Admission letter
• National Identification Number
• LASRRA card
• Matriculation number
• Valid school identity card
• Letter from Oba and letter from Local Government
• Any other relevant supporting documents
