Scholarship Details

Yokohama National University, in collaboration with the World Bank and the Government of Japan, is offering admission into its Master’s Degree Programme in Infrastructure Management (IMP) for the 2026–2028 academic session.

The programme is designed to build the technical and leadership capacity of professionals from developing countries. It integrates engineering, economics, management, and legal frameworks to prepare participants to manage complex infrastructure systems and contribute to sustainable development in their home countries.

The IMP is particularly suited for government officials, policy practitioners, and professionals working in infrastructure-related sectors.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for the Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a national of a World Bank member country eligible for financing
  • Dual citizens of developed countries are not eligible
  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with strong academic performance, obtained at least three years before the application deadline
  • Have a minimum of three years of recent, full-time professional experience in development-related work after completing a Bachelor’s degree
  • Applicants from countries on the World Bank’s Harmonized List of Fragile Situations may qualify for exceptions
  • Be in good physical and mental health
  • Must not be a World Bank or IMF Executive Director, staff member, or a close relative of such personnel

Required Documents

Applicants are required to submit the following documents:

  • Completed scholarship application form
  • Official academic transcripts and graduation certificate
  • Proof of English language proficiency (TOEFL/IELTS) or evidence of English-medium instruction
  • Research plan (maximum of six pages outlining objectives, methodology, and expected outcomes)
  • Two letters of recommendation (one academic and one professional or supervisory)
  • Academic Performance Entry Sheet (YNU official template)
