Job Summary for Health Safety and Environment HSE Officer

The HSE Officer will be responsible for identifying hazards, implementing preventive measures, and improving overall safety performance within the organization. The successful candidate will help create systems that minimize accidents, support regulatory compliance, and encourage employees to work safely at all times.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Conduct risk identification and safety assessments across operations
  • develop and maintain health and safety policies and procedures
  • monitor compliance with local and industry regulations
  • investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses
  • prepare detailed reports and recommend corrective actions
  • organize safety drills, toolbox talks, and employee training
  • promote environmental protection practices within the workplace
  • support continuous improvement of HSE performance

Requirements and Qualifications

To qualify for this role, applicants should meet the following:

  • BSc or HND in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline
  • minimum of three years relevant work experience
  • previous experience working within a company environment
  • professional certifications or additional safety training will be an advantage
  • strong reporting, communication, and organizational skills
  • ability to influence teams and enforce compliance

Salary and Benefits

  • Monthly salary range of ₦200,000 to ₦300,000
