Role Overview

DEER Nigeria is seeking a skilled Frontend & Backend Developer to support the development and optimization of its digital platforms. The successful candidate will work across both client-facing interfaces and server-side systems, collaborating closely with designers and engineers to build scalable, high-performance solutions.

This role is ideal for a developer with strong modern JavaScript experience and an interest in AI-enabled backend systems.Frontend Responsibilities

• Build and maintain responsive, high-performance user interfaces for web applications.
• Collaborate closely with designers to translate UI/UX designs into clean, functional code.
• Implement modern frontend architectures using Next.js, Turborepo, and HeroUI.
• Optimize applications for speed, accessibility, and cross-device compatibility.
• Ensure seamless integration between frontend components and backend services.

Backend Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain scalable server-side features using Express.js.
• Design, build, and manage RESTful APIs.
• Handle authentication, authorization, and secure data flows.
• Integrate AI-powered features and third-party AI services where applicable.
• Manage databases and data workflows using MongoDB.
• Ensure system reliability, performance, and maintainability.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• 2–4 years of professional experience in backend or full-stack development.
• Strong proficiency with JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Hands-on experience with Next.js, Express.js, and MongoDB.
• Familiarity with modern frontend tooling and monorepo setups.
• Experience working with APIs, authentication systems, and cloud-based services.
• Exposure to AI models or third-party AI integrations is a strong advantage.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
