Job Description
The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for designing, installing, maintaining, and supervising electrical systems to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations across Mikano’s facilities and projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain electrical systems, equipment, and components
- Prepare electrical drawings, schematics, layouts, and technical specifications
- Install, commission, and troubleshoot electrical systems for optimal performance
- Ensure compliance with electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations
- Conduct routine inspections, testing, and preventive maintenance
Technical and Operational Duties
- Diagnose electrical faults and implement corrective actions promptly
- Supervise on-site electrical installations, repairs, and maintenance activities
- Evaluate electrical loads and recommend system upgrades or improvements
- Select appropriate electrical materials, tools, and equipment for projects
- Monitor generators, transformers, control panels, and power distribution systems
Safety and Compliance Responsibilities
- Enforce electrical safety procedures and best practices
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure adherence to HSE standards
- Prepare and maintain safety documentation, permits, and inspection records
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree (BSc or BEng) in Electrical Engineering or Electrical/Electronics Engineering from a recognized institution
- Higher National Diploma (HND) in Electrical or Electronic Engineering may be considered with relevant experience
