As an Associate Fellow, you become part of Carboun’s wider intellectual community—collaborating with the core team on research projects, publications, and policy engagements. Fellows bring diverse disciplinary expertise and regional insight, contributing directly to evidence-based climate and energy policymaking.

This fellowship is non-residential and highly flexible, allowing experienced contributors to engage remotely, participate in regional and global dialogues, and support Carboun’s mission through impactful research and analysis.

Role: Research Associate

The Carboun Institute seeks Research Associates to support its expanding portfolio of analytical and policy-focused work. This position is ideal for early-career professionals eager to work at the intersection of climate research, policy development, and regional diplomacy.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct research and analysis on climate and energy policy issues
• Collect, manage, and interpret environmental and energy-related datasets
• Support the development of analytical tools, models, and visualization dashboards
• Contribute to research reports, policy briefs, presentations, and publications
• Monitor regional and global trends in climate change, sustainability, and energy transition
• Collaborate with senior researchers and assist with ongoing institute projects

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Economics, Energy Policy, Data Science, Public Policy, or a related field
• Strong analytical and research abilities, including handling complex datasets
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
