The Business Development Manager will play a key role in driving sustainable business growth. The successful candidate will be responsible for increasing deposits, improving loan quality, building strategic partnerships, and ensuring regulatory compliance in line with CBN guidelines.

Key Responsibilities of the Business Development Manager
Deposit Mobilization and Revenue Growth
- Develop and execute effective strategies to mobilize savings and fixed deposits
- Achieve monthly and annual deposit growth targets
- Identify and onboard high net worth individuals, SMEs, cooperatives, and corporate clients
- Strengthen revenue streams through innovative financial solutions
Loan Portfolio Development
- Expand and maintain a high quality loan portfolio
- Collaborate with the credit team to structure sound loan facilities
- Monitor loan performance and implement strategies to reduce default rates
- Ensure proper documentation and risk assessment procedures
Business Strategy and Market Expansion
- Design and implement business growth strategies aligned with organizational goals
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis
- Identify new markets and expansion opportunities
- Develop strategic partnerships that enhance profitability
Relationship Management
- Build and maintain long term relationships with key clients and stakeholders
- Represent the bank at business meetings, networking events, and community engagements
- Lead negotiations with high value clients
- Strengthen brand visibility within the Abuja business environment
Team Leadership and Performance Management
- Supervise and mentor deposit mobilization officers and marketing staff
- Set clear performance targets and monitor productivity
- Conduct periodic performance evaluations
- Encourage a results driven and customer focused team culture
Compliance and Risk Management
- Ensure all business activities comply with CBN regulations and internal policies
- Work closely with risk and compliance teams
- Maintain high standards of operational integrity
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Economics, or related field
- 7 to 12 years of relevant experience in banking, sales, or business development
- Strong understanding of deposit mobilization and loan portfolio management
- Excellent negotiation and relationship management skills
- Proven leadership and team management experience
- Strong analytical and strategic planning abilities
