Babban Gona Finance is inviting applications for the 2026 Finance Career Accelerator Program, an entry-level opportunity designed to develop high-potential professionals within its Finance function.

Babban Gona, meaning “Great Farm” in Hausa is a mission-driven social enterprise supporting smallholder farmers across Nigeria to improve productivity, profitability, and long-term sustainability. Through innovative financing, training, and market access, Babban Gona continues to transform rural agriculture and livelihoods.

The Finance Career Accelerator Program is a structured development role created to provide intensive training, mentorship, and hands-on experience across core finance operations. Successful candidates will gain exposure to debt fundraising, operational finance, financial reporting, and treasury management, with the goal of fast-tracking professional growth and impact.

Program Overview

As a participant in the Finance Career Accelerator Program, you will work closely with experienced finance professionals while contributing directly to Babban Gona’s financial strategy and execution.

The role focuses on two key areas:

• Raising Debt Finance
• Managing Operational Finance

You will receive continuous mentorship, practical training, and performance-based feedback designed to build strong technical and professional competencies.

Key Responsibilities

Raising Debt Finance

Participants will support Babban Gona’s fundraising and investor engagement efforts by:

• Assisting in sourcing and identifying potential debt investors
• Supporting the origination and structuring of debt financing transactions
• Participating in due diligence and negotiation processes
• Preparing financial models and investment proposals with high accuracy
• Supporting the closing and documentation of debt transactions
• Assisting with post-investment investor relationship management

Managing Operational Finance

Participants will contribute to day-to-day finance operations by:

• Supporting accounts receivable and accounts payable processes
• Assisting with inventory control and management activities
• Preparing financial reports and analysis in line with IFRS standards
• Supporting the implementation and monitoring of financial controls
• Assisting with financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting
• Supporting audit preparation and documentation
• Preparing schedules related to accounting for input financing for smallholder farmers
• Assisting with bank reconciliations and treasury management activities

Qualifications and Requirements

To be eligible for this program, candidates must have:

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel for financial modelling and analysis
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
• A strong passion for Babban Gona’s mission and social impact objectives
• High learning agility and enthusiasm for growth in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications
