Job Description
The Awaji Youth Federation (AYF) Fellowship Program invites passionate, next-generation leaders from around the world who are eager to address regional development challenges while contributing to global innovation.
The fellowship is a 9-month, fully immersive live-and-work program based on Awaji Island, Japan, designed for young professionals seeking accelerated growth, hands-on experience, and international exposure.
Participants will collaborate on real-world projects that support regional revitalization in Japan, while gaining practical skills through structured training, mentoring, and fieldwork.
Fellowship Overview

Program Structure
The AYF Fellowship is built around three interconnected components:
- Self-Development & Mentorship – Personal growth through coaching and leadership training
- Project Ideation & Execution – Hands-on project work addressing real community needs
- Event Planning & Creation – Designing and delivering impactful local and international events
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Be from any country (open globally)
- Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
- Have some prior professional or practical experience
- Demonstrate commitment to solving social challenges
- Share core values of discipline, hard work, and collaboration
- No IELTS or language test required
Fellowship Benefits
Successful fellows will receive:
- Monthly Salary: ¥220,000
- Base Salary: ¥190,000
- Work Allowance: ¥30,000
- Full coverage of government fees and taxes
- Free accommodation and meals
