Core Responsibilities
Daily Cash, Sales and Outlet Control
- Reconcile daily sales including cash, POS, and transfers against invoices and receipts
- Track full cash movement from receipt to bank confirmation
- Confirm proper documentation for all transactions
- Validate partner or third party sales records where applicable
Invoicing, Receivables and Credit Control
- Issue and verify invoices, delivery notes, and customer statements
- Manage debtors through aging reports, follow ups, and escalations
- Maintain accurate accounts receivable records for distributors and retailers
- Support sales teams with updated customer balances and approved credit limits
Payables and Supplier Management
- Process supplier invoices and verify pricing and quantities
- Prepare structured payment schedules
- Reconcile supplier statements and maintain updated ledgers
- Monitor supplier discounts and approved payment terms
Banking and Reconciliation
- Perform daily or weekly bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly
- Reconcile POS settlements and transfers against bank credits
- Track bank charges, failed transfers, and reversals
Inventory and Finance Coordination
- Work with warehouse and outlet teams to ensure stock received and stock issued are properly recorded
- Support periodic stock counts and investigate shrinkage, damages, or expired items
- Ensure accurate tracking of all product categories across operations
Payroll and Staff Cost Records
- Prepare payroll inputs including attendance summaries, allowances, and deductions
- Maintain payroll documentation with strict confidentiality
Reporting and Month End Close
- Prepare weekly and monthly financial reports covering:
- Sales performance by branch or channel
- Expenses versus budget
- Debtors aging analysis
- Cash position updates
- Gross margin tracking
- Support month end and year end closing with clean ledgers
- Provide clear explanations for financial variances
Controls and Compliance
- Maintain organized and audit ready financial records
- Enforce approval processes and reconciliation discipline
- Protect sensitive financial data and uphold professional integrity
Tools and Systems
- Advanced use of Microsoft Excel for reconciliation and reporting
- Accounting or ERP system
- Email and WhatsApp for payment confirmations and communication
- Shared digital storage platforms for documentation control
KPIs for the Accountant Job in Anambra
Performance will be measured by:
- Complete daily reconciliation of all sales transactions
- Timely and accurate bank reconciliation
- Reduction in debtor aging
- Clean month end close with minimal adjustments

Requirements and Qualifications
- OND, HND, or BSc in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum of 2 years accounting experience
- Experience in distribution or retail accounting is an advantage
- Strong understanding of ledgers, payables, receivables, and reconciliation processes
- Excellent Excel skills
- High level of attention to detail and organization
- Strong integrity and ability to work under pressure
Added Advantage
- Experience in inventory linked accounting
