Account Officer
This Account Officer job plays a key role in supporting the hospital’s financial operations by maintaining accurate records, managing billing and collections, and assisting with reporting, budgeting, and audit processes.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Transactions and Recordkeeping
• Record, verify, and process financial transactions including payments, receipts, invoices, and journal entries
• Maintain accurate and up to date financial records
• Manage general ledger and subsidiary accounts
Billing and Collections
• Prepare and issue invoices for medical services rendered
• Monitor receivables and follow up on outstanding payments
• Support reconciliation of billing accounts and cash collections
Reconciliation and Reporting
• Reconcile bank statements, accounts receivable, and accounts payable
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports
• Assist in preparing documents for internal review and external audits
Compliance and Internal Controls
• Ensure adherence to hospital financial policies and procedures
• Maintain proper documentation for regulatory and audit purposes
• Support internal and external audit activities
Budget Support
• Assist in preparing departmental budgets and financial forecasts
• Monitor budget performance and report variances
• Support cost control initiatives
Collaboration and Communication
• Work with other departments to resolve account discrepancies
• Provide financial clarification and reports to management
• Collaborate with HR, billing, and patient services teams
HMO and Billing Officer

• Ensure compliance with hospital policies and HMO contracts
• Prepare documentation for audits and reviews
Qualifications and Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or related field
• Experience in healthcare billing or HMO claims processing is an advantage
• Strong analytical and reconciliation skills
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple tasks
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and hospital billing systems
