Applications are now open for the 2026 UK ONE Youth Ambassadors Programme—one of the most respected volunteer leadership opportunities for young people dedicated to advancing global development, climate justice, equitable economic systems, and social transformation.
This initiative targets students and early-career professionals aged 18 to 35 who aspire to strengthen their advocacy capacity, influence policy conversations, and contribute to a global campaign fighting extreme poverty and inequality.
Programme Overview
The ONE Campaign annually appoints a new cohort of Youth Ambassadors to champion priority development themes including-
- Global health and pandemic preparedness
- Climate and environmental justice
- Fair development finance
- Education and economic inclusion
- Equality and human rights
Ambassadors serve as public representatives for these priorities across the United Kingdom—designing advocacy initiatives, participating in media activities, and engaging directly with political decision-makers.

During the programme, ambassadors may-

Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must-
- Reside in the UK for the full duration of the programme
- Be between 18 and 35 years old
- Commit several hours weekly to advocacy and campaign work
- Be available for essential in-person events including:
- Launch Residential
- Lobby Days in Parliament
- Africa Day engagements (25–26 May 2026)
- UK Spring Development Conference
- Commit to a minimum of nine months, with preference for 11–12 months
No prior advocacy experience is required—the programme values motivation, openness to learning, and strong interest in policy dialogue.
What Ambassadors Do
Advocacy and Campaign Execution
- Promote awareness of development issues
- Support ONE’s digital and in-person advocacy activities
- Mobilise constituencies to take action
Community and Media Engagement
- Produce written, digital, or campaign content
- Speak at events and community forums
- Assist in organizing local or online initiatives
Policy and Decision-Maker Interaction
- Meet with Members of Parliament
- Participate in national advocacy moments
- Contribute to conversations shaping the UK’s global development agenda
